AIRPORT ROBOTS TAKE OFF
CTV News covers passenger-assistance robots answering questions and guiding travellers at Halifax Stanfield.
Tomorrow's hardware is here, and Maritime Robotics is your trusted technology partner. We can make AI & Robotics work for your industry. Right here in Halifax.
At Maritime Robotics, our mission is to build a connected world, powered by devices, data, and AI, working with everyday people. Harnessing the power of the cloud and the latest smart devices, we will unlock the potential of your business.
We help you source and integrate devices that fit your use case—from guidance robots, kiosks and smart screens to vehicle-mounted cameras and edge computers.
We build custom apps and interfaces for smart devices, including mobile control, branded interactions, inspection workflows and reporting dashboards.
We partner with Dalhousie University to advance research on natural language processing, computer vision, navigation and artificial intelligence, while developing custom robotic systems locally in Nova Scotia.
We help teams evaluate technology, plan system integration and move from pilot projects to reliable day-to-day operations.
We design connected and cloud-based systems with encrypted communications, controlled access and privacy-conscious data handling.
Maritime Robotics is a young company, but we're already making a big impact! Check out some of our news coverage!
It all started once upon a lab...
In 2018, we assembled our first bot in Dalhousie ACM lab, with 3d computer vision & navigation. The bot was tailored by our us to restaurants and showcased the state of the art. From there, the possibilities of what we could do with this technology struck us, but more work was needed.
We needed custom software to tailor each bot to our unique clients. Computer vision, facial recognition, and other exciting tech paled in comparrison to the impression users got from seeing their own fully-customized branding and user experience take shape on the robot's screen.
We remain proudly rooted in Halifax, where our team designs, integrates and supports systems built for real local needs.
We source globally and build locally.
You may have seen some of our hardware and custom software in stores, restaurants, or other spaces around Halifax.
Great things are on the way. If you want to see what we can do for you and your space, contact us.
AI ROAD INSPECTION
Vehicle-mounted imaging, practical computer vision and one traceable workflow for municipal road maintenance.
01 / FIELD DETECTION
Each detection remains connected to its original frame, confidence and location so reviewers can verify what the system found.
02 / VEHICLE KIT
A compact camera, dashboard-mounted tablet and in-cabin edge computer turn a municipal pickup into a repeatable inspection platform.
03 / OPERATIONS PLATFORM
Explore routes, review detections, prioritize work and follow every issue through resolution.
AIRPORT ROBOT NAVIGATION
A deployed passenger-experience platform that combines safe indoor mobility, conversational assistance and autonomous terminal operations.
DEPLOYED AT HALIFAX STANFIELD
LIVE PROJECT
Two custom-built robots provide voice and touchscreen access to flight, weather and terminal information, then physically guide passengers to supported destinations.
01 / ROBOT PLATFORM
Interaction, vision and mobility—built into one robot.
02 / VISUAL NAVIGATION
The mobility stack continuously reads the terminal around the robot, adjusts speed near people and reroutes around temporary obstacles.
03 / AUTONOMOUS PATROL
Scheduled patrols extend the same perception and navigation stack into repeatable terminal coverage, with exceptions recorded for staff review.
HOSPITALITY SERVICE ROBOTS
AI-enabled robots support food delivery, guest reception and venue navigation in restaurants and event spaces.
